The PSA Group embarks on retrofitting with the Aventure Peugeot

by Retrofit-Daily

The PSA group is going into retrofit. With the Aventure Peugeot, the branch dedicated to the brand’s automotive heritage, the manufacturer’s teams are already working on a model to be converted to electric power. A first in the French retrofit world.

Aventure Peugeot and the PSA Group will move forward together

The growing interest in the electric conversion of vehicles is leading manufacturers to take a position on the subject of retrofitting their vehicles. In September 2019, Volkswagen will present an original electric VW “e” beetle in Frankfurt, in collaboration with their partner e-Classics.

In France, it is the PSA Group with its asset management association, Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS, that is launching the first. This partnership between the association and the carmaker will provide Aventure Peugeot with access to the PSA Group’s design offices and offer reliable and secure electrical conversion solutions.

A first prototype for 2020

The conversion will be carried out in the association’s workshops. The retrofitted prototype will be presented during the year 2020.  Peugeot and Citroën owners can already contact the association to find out more about converting their personal vehicle at the following address: contact-AVPCD@mpsa.com.

The retrofit to extend history, while remaining accessible.

To enable owners of classic cars to drive in the increasing number of LEZ (Low Emission Zones) in the future… retrofitting is a real solution. As Denis Huille from Aventure Peugeot points out, who sees it as a possibility to bring heritage to life in a different way.

He adds: “Our objective is to be able to offer interesting, inexpensive (editor’s note: less than 10,000€) and professional solutions.” Declares Denis Huille, director of development for the Peugeot Citroën DS Adventure at Auto Plus.
