The video of a Karmann Ghia retrofitted by its owner

by Retrofit-Daily

This amateur video shows us the electrical transformation of a Karmann Ghia retrofitted. From the change of engine to the installation of the new dashboard, this man went beyond mechanical conversion by doing the interior and exterior restoration of his car himself.

Karmann Ghia retrofitted

This Volkswagen Karmann owner embarked on the electrical transformation of his car, as it is common to see in the United States. Contrary to what one might imagine, the engine is far from the most difficult part of the transmission to change. The realization and installation of the various electrical circuits requires a lot of time and thoroughness.

The owner also performs the interior and exterior restoration of the car. Seats, carpet, roof, steering wheel and dashboard are restored. This large interior refresh gives access to the smallest corner, and facilitates the installation of the car’s new electrical circuit.
